Has anyone had success with sponsorships or affiliate links in these early stages?

Hey everyone, I’ve been running my YouTube channel for about six months now, mainly posting short educational videos about photography. I’ve noticed some views trickling in, but I’m really struggling to turn that into actual revenue. I know monetization isn’t instant, but I’m wondering what strategies people use early on to make their channels profitable without relying only on ads liven app review. Has anyone had success with sponsorships or affiliate links in these early stages? I feel a bit stuck and would love to hear some practical advice from people who’ve been there.

I totally get where you’re coming from! Monetizing a channel can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re just starting. Personally, I found that diversifying income streams early made a huge difference. For instance, combining YouTube’s ad revenue with affiliate links for products I actually use in my videos worked really well. I also reached out to small brands for collaborations—sometimes they’re open to sending free products in exchange for a review. Another thing that helped me was really focusing on engagement: replying to comments and building a community increases watch time, which indirectly boosts revenue. There’s also a great beginner-friendly guide on monetization strategies you might want to check out: How to Make a YouTube Video - Beginner’s Guide. It covers some points like sponsorships, affiliate marketing, and optimizing videos for better reach, which I think could help you structure your approach.
